Nuisance motorbike removed from Baseball Drive |
||
|
Recently we have received reports of nuisance off road bikes on Baseball Drive park; as well as being detrimental to local residents quality of life through noise nuisance and fumes, it also presents a risk to the children that play there. Officers from Pear Tree Neighbourhood Team deployed to the area at the times described by local residents.
Sure enough two off road bikes were located on the park; one made off immediately; this bike was red, with the rider wearing a balaclava. The second bike, Black and green also failed to stop for the Police and made off. PC's Bickley, Skevington and Stevenson followed in the direction it was last seen, with colleagues from Pear Tree Neighbourhood team also joining the search.
Following the direction of travel, and a member of the publics information the bike was located some distance away on Tintagel Close. With the riders offences mounting, Officers entered the address to effect the arrest. They located the male in bed, having changed his clothes to potentially try and deceive officers ( which were located on a table nearby) and matched the description of the rider. The male was promptly arrested on suspicion of the below and conveyed to custody:
The male also failed to provide a saliva and breath sample for drug and alcohol in his system.
The bike was also seized.
A very positive result for the team and we are very thankful for the information and support from the local community that lead to this.
We will continue to patrol and locate the other bike with the hopes of a similar outcome. If you have any information with regards to a red off road bike in the Normanton area please let us know anonymously via 101, the online chat, crimestoppers or through Derbyshire alert.
Many thanks,
